Hi, I’m Jessica and I am a Clinical Psychologist in supervised practice with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario.
I work with individuals and couples who are seeking clarity and meaningful change in their lives. Many clients come to therapy feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure why the same emotional and relationship patterns persist in their lives, despite their best efforts to change. I am passionate about helping clients approach their concerns in new ways so that change can occur at a deeper level. My work moves beyond coping strategies or insight alone toward change that is felt emotionally and directly aligns with your authentic needs, goals, and overall well-being.
I am experienced in working with a wide range of concerns, including trauma and its lasting impact, anxiety, low mood, problems with anger, self-esteem and self-criticism, as well as eating and body-image concerns.
I have a particular interest in supporting individuals who find themselves struggling in relationships or dating. Some clients notice patterns such as people-pleasing, fear of abandonment, feeling “too clingy”, or repeatedly experiencing rejection such as being “ghosted”. Others feel emotionally distant, uncertain about what they want, or struggle to trust themselves when making important relationship decisions.
For some, challenges arise within the context of a committed relationship. I work with couples who are navigating periods of uncertainty or transition in their relationship. This includes partners who feel caught in repetitive conflict, couples experiencing emotional distance, or those trying to determine how to move forward, whether together or apart. I also work closely with couples who are navigating engagement, wedding planning, and the transition into marriage – periods that can be meaningful and exciting, while also deeply stressful, vulnerable, and uncertain.
Whatever your reason for reaching out may be, you are welcome here.
A brief note about my clinical approach and training:
My practice is evidence-based and trauma-informed. I work to meet individual needs and preferences to ensure therapy feels personal and meaningful. My therapeutic approach is warm and compassionate, and it is grounded in Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT). I integrate approaches from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) as needed. I completed a PhD in Clinical Psychology at Toronto Metropolitan University, with a primary focus on trauma and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). I have been fortunate to receive diverse training experience across the GTA under mentorship from leaders in mental health. At Transforming Emotions, my practice is supervised by Dr. Sarah Thompson.
