Transforming Emotions
Dr. Emma Wookey
C.Psych. (she/her)
Clinical Psychologist (Supervised Practice)
I work with adults who are seeking assistance related to trauma, grief, depression, anxiety, and relationship difficulties. I will work with you to recognize, understand, and work with emotions in a safe and manageable way, helping you to move from painful emotions to a sense of greater stability and contentment in your life. My approach is integrative, culturally sensitive, and grounded in evidence-based practices rooted in emotion-focused therapy, somatic psychotherapy, mindfulness, and relational psychodynamic frameworks.
I completed my master’s degree in clinical psychology at Columbia University in New York and my doctorate in clinical psychology at Pepperdine University in Los Angeles. I have received training in inpatient multidisciplinary rehabilitation, oncology, and community mental health. I recently finished my pre-doctoral residency at Toronto Metropolitan University and the York University Psychology Clinic, and I am currently completing my supervised practice for registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario under the supervision of Dr. Sarah Thompson, C.Psych.
