Transforming Emotions
Ariella Golden,
M.A. (she/her)
Doctoral Associate
I am committed to empowering children and youth to better understand their emotional experiences and transform patterns contributing to behavioural, cognitive, and emotional challenges. I work with children and youth seeking support for anxiety, depression, worries, trauma, OCD, and whatever else life throws their way. I also enjoy adapting clinical work to support neurodiverse clients and welcome referrals to support neurodivergent youth. My clinical work is grounded in compassion, empathy, and collaboration, and I strive to centre clients’ values and strengths in the therapy room.
I practice within evidence-based therapeutic approaches including Emotion Focused Therapy, incorporating elements of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Acceptance Commitment Therapy to align with clients’ needs and goals.
Beyond my work at Transforming Emotions, I am a doctorate student in Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology at the University of Guelph. I have completed training at Maplewoods Centre for Family Therapy and Child Psychology and Upper Grand District School Board. I also work as a clinical consultant conducting psychoeducational assessments at Uplift Psychology.
At Transforming Emotions, my work is supervised by Dr. Julia McArthur, C. Psych.
