If you think you might be struggling with anxiety or stress, it’s time to talk to a trained mental health care provider. 

What should I expect when seeking therapy for anxiety?

Good therapy is built on trust and safety. Period. During your first session or two, your counsellor will listen and ask you a few questions to learn a bit more about what is troubling you, and about how you have come to this point in your life. By the third or fourth session, your therapist will share with you their ideas for how they will work with you to make sure you are both on the same page in terms of your treatment goals and how to achieve them.

Many people reaching out for help for anxiety have worked hard to learn to cope with their anxiety, never imagining that they could be free of their anxiety or significantly less impacted by anxiety in their daily lives. EFT does not focus on teaching coping skills, although we can help you with that while we also work on your larger treatment goals. EFT focuses on getting to the root of your anxiety and replacing fear, shakiness, and stress with a sense of calm, confidence, and competence. While this may sound unimaginable, we see these changes in our practice every week.
