Transforming Emotions
Jessica Burdo,
MSc. (she/her)
Doctoral Associate
I support individuals who are seeking therapy for a variety of reasons: to improve psychological and emotional health, to deepen self-exploration and growth, and to strengthen their ability to connect with others. Whatever your reason may be, you are welcome here.
My practice is evidence-based and trauma-informed. I work to meet individual needs and preferences to ensure therapy feels personal and meaningful. My therapeutic approach is warm and compassionate, and it is grounded in Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT). I integrate approaches from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), as needed, and I understand how vulnerable talking to a therapist can feel.
I am a senior doctoral student in Clinical Psychology at Toronto Metropolitan University, with a primary focus on trauma and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). I completed my pre-doctoral residency at the Toronto Area Residency Consortium (TARC). I have diverse training experience from St. Michael’s Hospital, UHN’s Intensive Eating Disorder Program, and Humber River Hospital’s Mental Health and Addictions Program. At Transforming Emotions, my practice is supervised by Dr. Sarah Thompson.
